Michael Miller is an Assistant Professor of Photography and the Coordinator of Digital Imaging at 香港六合彩开奖结果.  He has been a professional photographer and educator for over 25 years.  Michael states that, “As a third generation sailor I have been around sailboats my entire life.  Being on the water and under sail is a true passion of mine but at the same time, I have always been in awe of the aesthetic beauty of sailing vessels. At the early age of thirteen I had the pleasure and honor of going out to sea for a week on the Schooner Brilliant out of the Mystic Seaport Museum. For a full week we hoisted sails and polished brass as we sailed the New England waters. I had brought my camera and captured every moment of the trip”. Miller  says, “Over Labor Day weekend, for the past four years, I have had the privilege to travel back in time to the age of sail by photographing the Mayor’s Race during the Gloucester Schooner Festival. Dwarfed in my thirteen-foot chase boat, these beautiful, graceful and powerful vessels allow me to witness what others saw over a century ago.  This past year the Schooner Brilliant participated in the Mayor’s Race and I once again captured her in photographs and watched as she won in her class”.
