Andy Houle, Featured Arts Fest Beverly 2016 Artist

Each year an artist is chosen to be featured for the juried Beverly Community Art exhibition at the Walter J. Manninen Center for the Arts Carol Grillo Gallery and Desnoyers Overlook, 香港六合彩开奖结果, 376 Hale Street, Beverly.
Andrew Houle was chosen based on his involvement and dedication to the betterment of the arts in Beverly. Mr. Houle is a Montserrat College of Art graduate sharing many titles since graduating in 2000. With a list ranging from professional artist, illustrator, curator and promoter; he is also a mentor, collaborator, and publisher, creator of the Beverly Drive-in Theater at Lynch Park and co-founder of Beverly Comic Con. With the designation of the Beverly Arts District, Andrew Houle represents the vibrant art community and proves once more that Beverly is a thriving city for the creative economy. The Featured Artist receives a prominent spot at the exhibition, has their work used for advertising the event, and the artist is allotted a complimentary space on Cabot Street during Arts Fest on June 18.
The Beverly community art exhibition will run from Wednesday, June 3 – Friday, August 19, 2016. The reception is Friday, June 17, 5:00 – 7:30 p.m., free and open to the public. Andrew Houle has lived in Beverly since graduating from Montserrat College of Art in the year 2000. While studying primarily illustration, a love for oil painting co-existed throughout his formative years, leading to a split body of professional work with a career in comic books and gallery exhibitions. His work can be found throughout the country in private collections and represented by galleries here in the northeast. Houle currently splits his time as Creative Director at Tryptic Press, painting in his studio space at Porter Mill Studios, Co-Chairing the Beverly Cultural Council, and as lead promoter of Beverly Comic Con. He shares a home with his wife Melissa, Mila the cat, and his comic book collection.
