Endicott Hosts Safe Trick or Treat

November 4, 2016

When most think of Halloween, they envision pumpkins, candy corn and creative costumes, and while Endicott definitely embraces all of those things 鈥 to us, the holiday also represents giving back. Halloween is an opportunity for the College to interact with and help support the local community and those in need.Safe Trick or Treat

Each year, during the week of Halloween, we host a 鈥淪afe Trick or Treat鈥 on campus. The event is free of charge and is open to all children and families within the community. Safe Trick or Treat kicks-off with the children visiting designated residence halls and trick-or-treating at the students鈥 rooms within. After they have stocked up on candy, everyone is invited to the Field House for Halloween activities, crafts and refreshments.

The main initiative for Safe Trick or Treat 鈥 along with providing a fun and safe night for families 鈥 is to raise awareness for our Halloween for Hunger and Clothing Drive. Children that bring canned food or a clothing item to benefit the Drive receive a special treat. This year, we鈥檙e proud to share that we were able to donate six bags of clothing and approximately 300 pounds of food to local community members in need.

We look forward to welcoming the local community back to campus for the 2017 Annual Safe Trick or Treat, with the goal of surpassing this year鈥檚 donations!
