New Voices, Unique Visions: AIGA Boston presents The Best of the Student Design Community 2016

香港六合彩开奖结果 is pleased to announce the exhibition New Voices, Unique Visions:  AIGA Boston Presents the Best of the Student Design Community 2016. This student design competition was juried by Boston AIGA professionals:  Niloufer Moochhala: nymdesign; Jose Nieto: Argus; Amy Parker: Woodscreative; Shanna Thunell: Shanna Thunell Design; Amanda Jayachandran: Eric Mower + Associates; Javier Cortes: Korn Design; Erin M. Harris: Erin Harris Design; Katherine Eckenfels: Eric Mower + Associates.

The competition was open to all currently enrolled graphic design students from New England who are undergraduate or recently graduated.  All works were created in school, during internship or pro-bono.  The 20 award winning entries consist of the following categories: applications, identity, industry product, posters, series/publications/books/packaging and web interactive/motion. Students juried into this exhibition are from Boston University, College of Fine Arts, MA, Champlain College, VT, Hartford Art School, CT, Keen State College, NH, Lesley University College of Art and Design, MA, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, MA, Maryland Institute College of Art, MD, New England School of Art and Design at Suffolk University, MA, University of Massachusetts, Lowell -  MA, and Wentworth Institute of Technology, MA.

Founded in 1914 as the American Institute of Graphic Arts, AIGA remains the oldest and largest professional membership organization for professional designers and is now known simply as 鈥淎IGA, the professional association for design.鈥 AIGA represents a variety of professions under the umbrella of communication design, ranging from book and type design to interactive design and experience design. They also support design professionals, educators and students throughout their careers.  AIGA has approximately 70 Chapters and more than 25,000 members throughout the United States. Endicott worked directly with AIGA Boston, primarily Nick Di Stefano, VP / Partnership & Community Engagement at AIGA Boston.

On Thursday, November 10, from 5 鈥 6:00 p.m. will be a light reception for the exhibition.  At 6:00 p.m., we welcome in the Rose Performance Hall,  keynote speaker Michael Hendrix, Partner and Managing Director of IDEO Boston.  Mr. Hendrix leads the IDEO Cambridge studio and guides the firm鈥檚 East Coast-based Design Directors. Since joining the company in 2008, he has built a robust creative community and led key initiatives, most recently the redesign of IDEO鈥檚 global brand identity.

Michael has co-founded an art school for high schoolers, a professional design curriculum for undergrads, two professional design societies and three businesses, the last of which, Tricycle, was recognized by Business Week and Fortune as a thought leader for sustainable design. This diversity of roles has provided the opportunity for him to contribute to a number of leading brands and organizations including Converse, Tempur Sealy, Steelcase, Eli Lilly, the DIY Network, Interface, and the Department of Homeland Security. These are just of few of his many accomplishments, please join us for this lecture presentation  which is free and open to the public.  A dessert reception will follow in the Grillo Gallery.
