BEVERLY, Mass. – In a sign of its dedication to sustainability, 香港六合彩开奖结果 is expanding Earth Day into “Earth Month,” with three events that are free and open to the public, starting with the Earth Day Festival on April 13, continuing with a lecture on sustainable foods and fuels on April 17, and concluding with a lecture on the Environmental Protection Agency on April 22. In partnership with local organizations Cape Ann Vernal Pond, Change is Simple, Full Circle Earth, and North Shore Technology Council, the public is invited to gather at Endicott’s lakeside amphitheater for food, arts and crafts, lawn games, and more. Cape Ann Vernal Pond will provide reptiles to play with, and Change is Simple will showcase educational activities to engage guests with sustainability. The festival will include music; a display featuring BMW, Jaguar, and Mitsubishi electric vehicles; and a bike-powered smoothie-maker to deliver delicious “no power necessary” drinks. The event is organized by the Endicott Environmental Society, a student club, along with other student clubs Her Campus and YOKE Club.

As part of Endicott’s STEM Lecture Series, Daniel C. Nocera, Patterson Rockwood professor of energy at Harvard University, will discuss his discovery of the “artificial leaf,” a technology that replicates photosynthesis by converting carbon dioxide, water, and sunlight into energy that can be used or stored for later usage. As testament to this technology’s potential widespread impact, Scientific American and the World Economic Forum have described the artificial leaf as a breakthrough technology, and TIME has included Nocera in its list of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Jeffry Fowley is a retired attorney who worked with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for more than 35 years. From 1985 to 1995, he was the lead EPA attorney in the Boston Harbor cleanup litigation. He is a graduate of Columbia College and Columbia Law School and holds a master’s in public administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Fowley will be discussing the environment and the state of the EPA in our current political climate.
