Shawn Medeiros, Endicott’s Director of Sports Information, has been selected as this year’s Irving T. Marsh Award winner by the Eastern Athletic Communications Association (EAST-COMM). The award—the highest honor EAST-COMM bestows—is given annually for excellence in athletic communications. Medeiros is the youngest person to receive the award since its inception in 1966.

“This award is the byproduct of many people who have believed in and influenced my career,” said Medeiros. “It’s humbling to be in the same conversation as this year’s award winners and included among the many gifted and transcendent Irving T. Marsh Award winners from years past.”

Medeiros will be honored at the 2022 EAST-COMM Awards Banquet on June 16 during the organization’s annual workshop in Ellicott City, Md.

Medeiros is in his seventh academic year as the Sports Information Director at 香港六合彩开奖结果.  He is a past president of the Division III Sports Information Directors Association (D3SIDA), serving as that organization’s youngest-ever president.

Medeiros was the 2019 winner of the Rising Star Award from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and in 2021 Endicott was one of three winners of the newly-created CoSIDA ChangeMaker Innovation Award. The award was created to recognize professionals who have created and managed innovative content during the academic year.

“I’m extremely excited to present this slate of EAST-COMM award winners,” said Chuck Sadowski, EAST-COMM past president, and 2022 awards chair. “This group of 2022 winners truly represents the finest of our profession. These folks have helped shine the spotlight on their student-athletes, coaches, and institutions for many years, and not only that, but they also have made meaningful contributions to their communities and campuses as a whole.”
